Eoin Morgan becomes captain with most T20I wins, surpasses MS Dhoni and Asghar Afghan

Eoin Morgan, the English skipper on Monday surpassed the likes of Indian Captain MS Dhoni and Afghanistan captain Asghar Afghan to register the most number of wins under his best as the captain of an international side.

He achieved this feat in the T20 World Cup match against Sri Lanka on Monday. An Inspired inning by Jos Buttler helped England post a competitive total on the board after the top order’s miserable failure. Even Morgan who seemed to be having an off-season of cricket came back in form to support his team with a much-needed inning of 40 runs. The second inning too was a tricky one, but somehow the English bowlers managed to all-out the Sri Lankan side to win the game by 26 runs. With this victory, Morgan now has 43 wins under his belt from 68 matches.

The former Indian Skipper who retired last year had led his side in 72 games and had won 42 out of them. While Asghar Afghan, the captain of Afghanistan who too retired from the game only 2 days ago, had 42 wins from 52 matches.

The English team has managed to win all 4 of their games in this T20 World Cup so far. They started with a magnificent defeat against the defending champions West Indies whom they bundled for just 55 runs. Continuing their great form, they went on to defeat Bangladesh, Australia, and Sri Lanka with relative ease. Written off by pundits as the least favorable team, after the exclusion of their star allrounder Ben Stokes and pace bowler Archer, England has proven everyone wrong. Even their captain who lost the IPL final only a few weeks ago has found his mojo back and is en route to another title glory.
