ENG vs SL: England to begin training after a possible COVID scare for the entire team

The English team is in Sri Lanka preparing for the tests which will be followed by the ODI’s.

Upon arrival the visitors faced a possible COVID scare as one the their teammates, namely Moeen Ali was tested positive for COVID-19. All the players were immediately placed under isolation and Moeen Ali was isolated in a different building from the team. Chris Woakes who was in close contact with Ali has also been isolated from the team. The entire squad went through the tests which came out negative for everyone except Ali. Woakes too came out as negative but will continue to be in isolation for some time. Meanwhile, the rest of squad is allowed to practice but in controlled manner. The team will undergo another test on Thursday as they will begin their practice.

Ali has been doing well and is under observation. The ECB is making sure that no trouble is caused to the visitors as well as the Sri Lankan management due to this.

The first test is to be played on 14th January. Moeen Ali most likely to miss this test.
