The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has started an investigation into a late-night drinking session involving skipper Joe Root after the cops were called to stop the post Ashes party at the team hotel in Australia.
Veteran fastmen James Anderson and the other three players from the other camp Alex Carey, Travis Head, and Nathan Lyon were also spotted in a video they made together to mark the end of the Ashes series at the tourist’s hotel in Hobart, according to reports (source PTI).
After the Ashes series came to end on Monday morning, players of England and Australia shared booze in the team areas of the hotel in Hobart. Other Hotel guests logged a complaint to the hotel management and as the protocol in Australia, the local cops arrived at the scene.
When asked to leave the premises by the hotel management and the police, the players and management returned to their hotel rooms. The England camp has apologized for any inconvenience caused. The video which is making rounds on social media was allegedly taken by England’s assistant coach Graham Thrope.
The players were seen being talking to at least four police officers who told them to stop the party and leave the hotel premises. Tasmania Cops attended the scene at Crowne Plaza Hobart on Monday morning after the guests complained of intoxicated people in the function area of the hotel.
