In the lead-up to the Asia Cup 2023 finals, the Indian cricket team had been in amazing form, having secured a crucial victory against arch-rivals Pakistan yesterday. However, their encounter with Sri Lanka was nothing short of a nail-biter, thanks to the remarkable efforts of Dunith Wellalage.
Dunith’s standout performance in this high-tension match was with the ball. His abilities as a bowler was through as he took an impressive 5 wickets, dismissing the Indian batting lineup with his precision and skill. His ability to swing the ball both ways and vary his pace left the Indian batsmen struggling to find their footing. Not only with ball but with the bat later on he scored 46* not out and would have won it for them if someone from the other end supported him.
