Deepak Hooda very proud to receive the debutant cap from Virat Kohli

The all-rounder talks about his debut with his teammate after the second ODI against West Indies.

The allrounder from Rohtak, Deepak Hooda who made his ODI debut against West Indies at Narendra Modi Stadium under the new captain of the Indian cricket team Rohit Sharma was very excited and played a small part in the win against the Caribbean side with his bat in the first match and didn’t get the chance to show his skills with the ball.

In the second ODI, the all-rounder scored 29 runs off 25 balls in the first innings and took his first ODI wicket in the second innings by sending the set batsmen Shamarh Brooks to the pavilion which was one of the turning points of the game and letting his side comeback in the game and then ended his bowling spell with the figures of 24 runs in the 4 overs with 1 wicket to his name. Eventually, India defeated the visitors in the second ODI and secured the ODI series.

After the game, Hooda had chat with batsmen Surya Kumar Yadav which was posted on the Twitter handle of BCCI.

When asked about the feeling of making the debut for team India, the allrounder replied it was something that cant be described in words. He also had a wish that he receives his debutant cap but the hands of Virat Kohli or MS Dhoni. The allrounder said he looked to get better and better as the days progressed and improve as a player which kept him motivated throughout his playing days.

Deepak Hooda was not retained by Punjab Kings before the IPL mega auction and will go under the hammer on 12th and 13th February in Bengaluru, where some teams might be interested in the allrounder.
