BCCI Domestic Cricket: No Ranji Trophy this year, Vijay Hazare Trophy gets a nod

BCCI domestic cricket: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will not conduct the first-class domestic tournament Ranji Trophy (RT). It’s first time in 87 years that BCCI will not conduct RT. However, The apex cricket body in India has decided to conduct Vijay Hazare Trophy as per the requests of majority of state boards.

BCCI Head Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Shah had plans to organise RT , However, conducting a long tournament with following bio-bubble seems unfeasible.

BCCI in its AGM decided that players will be compensated in case there’s truncated season of tournaments. further, the board also plans to devise a system that can take care of players financially as they are set to miss RT match fees.
