BBL Knockout: After winning the toss Brisbane Heat opted to field first in the knock out game against Sydney Thunders at the Manuka Oval, Canberra. The batting order of Thunders was unable to cope up with pressure put by Brisbane bowlers. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Sam Billings and Ben Cutting’s identical contribution of 34 runs helped them to reach 158/8 in 20 overs.
Brisbane bowlers were sharp from the beginning. Mitchell Swepson and Mark Steketee scalped two wickets each. While Ben Laughlin, Marnus Labuschagne and Morne Morkel pocketed one wicket apiece.
