Bangladesh captures the series with a thrilling win and occupies the top spot in Super League table

In the second ODI between Bangladesh and Afghanistan played in Chattogram, Bangladesh registered a big win by 88 runs on Friday, in which Liton Das made a big contribution. Bangladesh won the first ODI after so many hiccups and blows given by visitors camp.

Mushfiqur Rahim in this series. Both these batsmen put Bangladesh on the big stage while batting with a bang. Liton Das hit a brilliant century. He scored 136 runs in 126 balls which included 16 fours and 2 sixes.

After this, the bat of Mushfiqur Rahim, who came in the middle order, also roared and he played a scintillating innings of 86 runs in 93 balls. His innings included 9 fours. Bangladesh made a score of 306 runs losing 4 wickets in 50 overs on the basis of these two stalwarts.

During this, Farid Ahmed took 2 wickets among the bowlers of Afghanistan. While Fazlhaq Farooqui and Rashid Khan took 1-1 wickets.

There was a big target in front of the Afghanistan team to answer. Visitors opener Rahmat Shah and Najibullah Zadran in the middle order played half-centuries but still his team remained far away from the target.

The visitors innings was reduced to 218 runs in 45.1 overs. And from Bangladesh Taskin Ahmed and Shakib Al Hasan took 2 wickets each. While Mustafizur, Shoriful, Mehdi Hasan, Mahmudullah and Afif Hossain took 1-1 wickets.

Hosts have three CWCSL series more to go after the completion of the ongoing series against Afghanistan (visitors). Bangladesh now will face South Africa, Ireland and England. Bangladesh has 10 victories out of 14 games and they are heading towards the 2023 World Cup qualification with strong intent.
