“Back in blue,” KL Rahul provides update on his fitness

KL Rahul has provided an update on his long-standing injury, making intentions clear to be available for selection for upcoming world events.

KL Rahul hasn’t had a decent season after falling short of winning IPL 2022 despite having the best playing XI in the tournament. Soon after the IPL 2022, KL Rahul caught an injury and was forced out of the limited series against West Indies and a sole test against England. KL Rahul produced a class performance in the away series against England. Lately, when the Indian team is looking to settle the side for the upcoming T20 World cup. The Indian team has already begun preparing for the world cup in Australia.

With Rohit Sharma looking to go with a left-hander in the opening combination, KL Rahul will most likely be left out of the limited-overs match. BCCI will also look forward to having KL Rahul back to the squad and the player has also announced his comeback timeline in his recent Tweet.

“Hey guys, I wanted to clarify a couple of things about my health and fitness. My surgery in June was successful and I had begun training with the hope of returning to national duty for the teams tour of the West Indies. Unfortunately, as I was nearing a return to full fitness, I tested for COVID – 19. This naturally pushes things back by a couple of weeks but I am to recover as quickly as possible and be available for selection as soon as I can. To represent the national team is the highest honor, and I cannot wait to get out there back in blue.”
