
On Saturday, Australia cricket announced the winners of the Australia cricket awards. Mitchell Starc was honored with the Allan Border Medal, the most prestigious honor in Australian cricket. Starc was also named as the Australia men’s ODI player of the year.
The man of the series of the Ashes 2021-22, Travis Head, was also rewarded for his phenomenal performance in Australia’s 4-0 victory against England. Travis was awarded as the Test player of the year.
Following his incredible T20 World Cup campaign, Mitchell Marsh was named the Male T20 Player of the year. The allrounder scored a total of 684 runs in Australia’s triumph at an average of 34.2. Marsh was the hero of the World Cup finals; he played an innings of 77 runs off 50 balls to get Australia over the line against New Zealand.
On the other hand, Ashleigh Gardner bagged the prestigious Belinda Clark Award, coming in seven votes ahead of the last year’s winner Beth Mooney. Also, Alyssa Healy was named female ODI player of the year. She won the award for the third time in a row.
