The long awaited Australian tour started on Friday. This is India’s first international cricket match since COVID-19 lockdown. Team India went to Australia after two years for a tour. Both the team players were seen wearing black armbands during the first ODI match against Australia as a tribute to late Dean Jones.
Dean Jones was a former Australia cricket player and was known as one of the finest exponents of the gentleman’s game. Dean passed away due to a sudden heart attack in Mumbai on 24 September while he was a part of commentary panel for the 13th edition of IPL.
Other than playing tribute to Dean Jones, Australian cricketers also paid tribute to late Australian batsman Philip Hughes as today marks the six years oh his demise. Philip Hughes was hit by a ball in his neck, during a Sheffield Shield match.
