India tour of Australia: In his 250th ODI for India, Virat Kohli reached another milestone of being the fastest to 22000 international runs. Overall Kohli is the third Indian player to reach the landmark. However, Kohli played some impeccable shots in his innings of 89. A blinder from Moses Henriques ensured Kohli departs to pavilion. In the second ODI of three-match series Australia lead by 2-0.
Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid are two other Indian players who have managed to score 22000 international runs. Kohli was looking good, However, the pressure to score was too much to handle. Chasing 389 against a top-notch bowling attack is never easy. The Indian skipper has 70 international centuries (43 ODIS and 27 in Tests). He is only behind the Australian genius Ricky Ponting(71).
India will play the third ODI at Canberra on December 2. After that, the hosts will play three T20Is and four Test matches. Kohli will depart to India after the end of the first Test match for birth of his first child.
