Ashes Second Test: What are the chances of rain on Day 2?

The second Test of the Ashes 2023 between England and Australia is scheduled to take place at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London from June 28 to July 2.

Following Australia’s victory in the first Test, England finds themselves trailing 1-0 in the series. Rain delays affected the opening match, and the weather forecast for the second Test indicates chances of light showers on the first, third, and fourth days of the game.

Maximum temperatures during the match are expected to range from 22°C to 24°C. Wednesday night may see a 30% chance of showers, while Thursday is likely to be mostly cloudy with no rain. Friday and Saturday have a 40% chance of rain, and Sunday is expected to have a few clouds but no risk of rain.

Australia had a strong start on day one of the second Ashes test after their win in the first match. England made changes to their lineup, bringing in Josh Tongue for Moeen Ali, while Mitchell Starc replaced Scott Boland for Australia. England won the toss and elected to bowl. At the end of the day, Australia reached a score of 339.

David Warner played a solid innings of 66 before being bowled by Tongue, who also dismissed Khawaja early on 17. Labuschagne and Travis Head contributed with scores of 47 and 77 respectively. Steve Smith remained unbeaten on 85, while Alex Carey scored 11. England’s bowlers, including James Anderson and Stuart Broad, couldn’t make much impact, but Tongue, Joe Root, and Robinson managed crucial wickets for England.
