Former pacer Stuart Broad shared insights on the ongoing India-England Test series (by PTI), highlighting it as the most evenly-matched contest between the two sides. Despite the fierce competition, Broad believes England stands a strong chance of triumphing due to the absence of Virat Kohli’s “fire, passion, and competitiveness” from the Indian team.
In an interview with PTI during the SA20, where he served as a commentator, Broad expressed his views on the series, emphasizing the engrossing nature of the matches so far. He acknowledged Kohli’s absence due to personal reasons as a notable setback but underscored the captivating nature of the games.
With the series currently tied at 1-1, both teams are gearing up for the third game scheduled in Rajkot, commencing on February 15. Broad emphasized Kohli’s significance, stating, “Any cricket match without Virat Kohli is of lesser quality because he is such a wonderful player, brings fire, passion, great following to the sport but ultimately personal matters are more important.”
