Afghanistan’s cricket team is set to embark on their tour of Bangladesh, starting with a one-off Test match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The draft itinerary obtained by Cricbuzz reveals that Afghanistan will arrive in Bangladesh on June 10, with the Test match scheduled to take place from June 14 to June 18 in the capital city.
After the red-ball encounter, Afghanistan will then head to India on June 19 before returning to Bangladesh on July 1 to continue the tour. The remaining part of the series includes three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), which will be played until July 17.
The three ODIs will all be held in Chattogram on July 5, 8, and 11, respectively. Following that, both teams will move to Sylhet to compete in the two T20Is scheduled for July 14 and 16.
Meanwhile, several members of Bangladesh’s squad, who recently toured England for ODIs against Ireland, have returned home. However, a few prominent cricketers have opted to extend their break and are not part of the current squad.
According to BCB officials, the preparation camp for the upcoming home series against Afghanistan is expected to commence on May 25 or 26. They anticipate the availability of their foreign coaching staff, who are also enjoying their break, before the start of the training camp.
