IPL mega auctions are just a few days away and there are a lot of rumors spreading of so many players. Also, there is curiosity in the fans’ minds that in which team such talented players will end up. Chennai Super Kings is again looking to bolster their line-up after having a wonderful 14th season of the Indian Premier League. They lifted the trophy after defeating Kolkata Knight Riders in the finals which was a pretty one-sided game. Former Indian opener as well as English and Hindi commentator Aakash Chopra thinks that Chennai Super Kings don’t look at the players’ age while buying them or retaining them, they just look at their potential. Chennai Super Kings will be again going into the IPL 15 with a strong squad as per Aakash Chopra. He also feels that MS Dhoni will lead the team again this year and they will go with Faf du Plessis in the opening along with Ruturaj Gaikwad.
“I think Faf du Plessis will go back to Chennai Super Kings. Chennai is not bothered about the player’s age. He (Faf du Plessis) formed a very good combination with Ruturaj Gaikwad, they will stick to that,” said Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel.
As the teams were only allowed to retain four players Chennai Super Kings decided to retain MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Moeen Ali. They didn’t retain Mr. IPL (Suresh Raina) who was with the team in every season the team played in the IPL. It will be interesting to see where Suresh Raina will end up in this season’s IPL.
