Afghanistan has taken the lead in the first match of a three ODI match series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan being played in Chattogram. In the first match played against Bangladesh, Afghanistan batted first and scored 215 runs, in response to which Bangladesh batted collapsed badly. Afghanistan is currently looking forward to winning the match due to the superb bowling of Fazlahaq Farooqi.
Fazlahaq Farooqi had made it difficult for Bangladesh by the wicket of Tamim Iqbal and Litton Das in his second over. The Afghanistan team didn’t play the entire 50 overs while batting first and was reduced to 215 runs in a total of 49.1 overs. The highest run from Afghanistan was scored by Najibullah Jadaran who played a stunning inning of 67 runs. Najibullah Jadaran as well as Rahmat Shah Also contributed 34 runs significantly.
Mustafizur Rahman was the most successful bowler in bowling from Bangladesh, taking three wickets in 9.1 overs. Mustafizur Rahman as well as Soriful Islam and Taskin Ahmed bowled brilliantly and bowled 2 wickets to their name.
The Afghanistan batsmen have been disappointed with their batting but the bowlers have backed to the Afghan team in the match and Afghanistan is seen to be very close to winning the first match in this series of three ODI matches.
