PV Sindhu wins Swiss Open 2022 as her second women’s singles title of the season

PV Sindhu wins Swiss Open Crown 2022 defeating Busanan Ongbamrungphan at Women’s Singles by 21-16, 21-8 in 49 minutes.

PV Sindhu the Ace Indian Shuttler notched up her 2nd title in Women’s singles of the season. Here on Sunday, in the Summit clash of the Swiss Open 300 Badminton Tournament. PV Sindhu made a straight play win over Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand at the St. Jakobshalle.

PV Sindhu, a double Olympic medalist played her 2nd successive final in the tournament. It took her only 49 minutes to get the better of the Busanan, the fourth-seeded, 21-16, 21-8.

Sindhu Dominated the match against the Thai, as she took an early lead of 7-5 in the play before her opponent fought back to make it 16-15. But Sindhu fixed it swiftly and went on to take the opening play 21-16.

The 26-year-old Indian was seen a little ruthless in the second game of the match and stormed to a lead of 5-0. She took great advantage of her height, led 11-2 at the interval of the mid-game. Busanan trailed by a mile, made a poor fist of a comeback as the time Sindhu made it 17-4. After the change of the ends, Sindhu didn’t face any resistance in the second game and took the game by 21-8 to win over her Opponent, Busanan.

Sindhu had also won the Syed Modi International Super 300 this year in January at Lucknow. Tournaments of Super 300 are the 2nd lowest tier of BWF Tour events.

This win was PV Sindhu’s 16th win over the Thai Player Busanan in 17 meetings, Sindhu lost only once to the Thai player, which was at the 2019 Hong Kong Open.
