Domestic flights to resume by 25th May

Indian economy begins its restoration, back into the world. The Airports Authority of India has disclosed that domestic flights will resume from 25th May, 2020. Air travel via multiple national airports within the Indian Territory will soon resume its operationalisation for thousands of citizens throughout the country. However, Standard Operating Protocols have been set up with more precautions than ever. Resuming these services during the spread of novel corona virus can be dangerous. Especially, when thousands of passengers will assemble from different parts of India in a single uniform place. Keeping such factors in mind, the AAI has put up some policies that must be executed by each traveler if they wish to enjoy the services.

Passengers must obtain a self printed boarding pass through Web check-in on the Airline’s website. This would also include online check-in of luggage that would be carried. Government endorsed and self built independent app “Arogya Setu” must be installed. The app provides information related to Covid-19 and specifies how the individual user could be exposed to the virus given their location and personal details.

Only and only if the app indicates a green light for the passenger they will be granted entrance into the airport terminal. However, children travelling below the age of 14 do not need to show the indication by the app. Personal vehicles or select authorized taxi services or transport services with restricted seating will be permitted to enter the airport. Passengers are required to reach the airport two hours before departure. Only those passengers who have departure in the next four hours will be allowed entry into the terminal building.
