
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend a “historic” Veer Bal Diwas celebration at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium on December 26, according to his office.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement that PM Modi will attend a ‘Shabad Kirtan’ performed by over 300 ‘Baal Kirtanis’ and also signal off a march-past by about 3,000 children in Delhi.
According to the government, interactive and participatory events are being held across the country to inform and educate citizens, particularly young children, about the exemplary courage of the’sahibzades,’ the children of the last Sikh guru Gobind Singh, who laid down their lives while defending their faith.
Essay writing competitions, quiz competitions, and other events will be held at schools and colleges across the country. According to the statement, digital exhibitions would be set up in public spaces such as train stations, gas stations, and airports.
The statement stated that across the country, dignitaries will relate the life story and sacrifice of the murdered sons of the last Sikh guru.
PM Modi stated on January 9 this year, Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary, that December 26 will be marked as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ to commemorate the martyrdom of the Sikh guru’s sons Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh.
