Former GOO of NSE Anand Subramanian is the mysterious yogi: Report

CBI has arrested the former NSE Group Operating Officer Anand Subramanian. They confirm that he was the mysterious Yogi who guided the actions of former CEO Chitra Ramkrishna.

Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested the former NSE Group Operating Officer Anand Subramanian, earlier on 25 February. They confirm that he was a mysterious Yogi who guided the actions of former CEO Chitra Ramkrishna, CBI sources have said to CNBC TV 18.

As per the reports, the e-mail ID which Chitra Subramanian used to transfer NSE’s confidential information from [email protected] is created by Subramanian as ‘[email protected].’

Following the discovery of “new facts” in a Sebi report referring to a mystery yogi guiding the operations of former CEO Chitra Ramkrishna, the CBI detained Anand Subramanian and expanded its probe into a co-location scandal at the National Stock Exchange. After succeeding former CEO Ravi Narain in 2013, Ramkrishna appointed Subramanian as her personal advisor. He later got promoted as Group Operating Officer (GOO) at a fat pay cheque of Rs 4.21 crore.

Subramanian’s contentious selection and later promotion besides important judgments were led by an anonymous individual who Ramkrishna said was a formless enigmatic Yogi residing in the Himalayas, a study into Ramkrishna’s email exchanges during the Sebi-ordered audit found.

The CBI swung into action after the Sebi report, which showed alleged abuse of power by the then top brass of the NSE, officials said. The CBI had been investigating the co-location scam against a Delhi-based stock broker since 2018.
