Sensex fell 200 points in the early trade, Nifty below 18,500

In the opening hours of trading on Monday, equity benchmarks in India declined along with the sentiment of the world markets.

Domestic stock markets opened with a decline on the first trading day of the week. In early trade on Monday, the Sensex saw a decline of up to 277 points. At the same time, Nifty also weakened marginally and reached below 18500.

At present, the Sensex is trading at 62393 points while the Nifty is trading at 18531 points. The impact of the fall in the global market was also visible on the domestic market.

The Sensex opened at 62016, down 277 points, while the Nifty opened at 18430, down 82 points. On the other hand, trading started at 42757 level with a fall of 226 points in Bank Nifty. However, after the fall in the initial trade, the market is showing recovery.

The rupee also depreciated against the dollar and opened at 81.77, down 8 paise. The rupee had closed at 81.69 on Friday.
