Abhinav Kapoor, who’s as of now seen in Bade Ache Lagte Hai 2, discusses how he is slowly adjusting to the social media culture and is taking a stab at it. He says, “I am usually not very active on social media, but I have been trying really hard over the past few weeks. But then I am not consistent, so.I am not sure how long I will be able to be very prompt on putting up posts.”
He is an introverted person and likes to keep his life private. “I don’t understand how people come live and talk to their fans. I feel I won’t be able to do that. But none the less I am at least trying to keep posting online as much as I can,” he says.
Social media following has become significant for actors today and many even whine that they have lost out on roles for not having a gigantic following. Ask Abhinav about this and he says, “I have not experienced any such thing. But I have heard that this has happened with some others. The casting and production teams apparently look at an actor’s following before casting him/her. I personally feel this shouldn’t happen because we are artists and many of us are not that interested in social media we would rather focus on our acting skills.”
Abhinav has been part of many TV shows in the course of the last 17 years, but has done not many lead roles, he says, “I have no regrets about my career when I look back. I have kept evolving and that process will never stop. And whenever I have bagged a good role, I have never focussed on the fact that it isn’t the lead role. What matters to me is my role in the show. If one keeps thinking that he wants to play lead then his career will be short-lived. I want to do more work and in this industry, it’s important to be visible all the time. Out of sight is out of mind, and this really applies to our industry.”
