The Chonga Girls comedy series under development at CBS with Mimi Davila and Laura Di Lorenzo in the lead

The comedy duo of Mimi Davila and Laura Di Lorenzo, who performs as The Chonga Girls, are geared up to write, co- executive producer, and star an eponymous multi camera comedy series for CBS in development from CBS Studios, as per the reports by Deadline.

Marlena Rodriguez, who is known for Silicon Valley and Clone High, will be writing the series. Moreover, Marlena will executive produce along with Kaitlin Saltzman under his WV Entertainment banner, Wilmer Valderrama, and Al Madrigal.

The Chonga Girls follow two dangerously confident childhood friends, Mimi and Laura, who have moved from Miami to Hollywood to make their dream of becoming famous come true. But much to their surprise, they find themselves working at the makeup counter for a department store right off the Walk of Fame.

Mimi is a Cuban/Bulgarian actress, writer, and comedian who alongside her best friend Laura released a viral video Chongalicious in 2007. Most recently, the wrapped shooting the lead role in the indie film The Scout. She can also be seen in Julio Torres’ feature film Problemista and Gala Film’s new dystopian series RZR. The best friends also perform regular at comedy festivals.

Laura, who is a Venezuelan Miamian, had lend her voice for Selena Quintanilla in the Netflix series Selena: The Series.
