Season 16 of MTV reality series RuPaul’s Drag Race is over, and America’s Next Drag Superstar has been crowned.
This edition of RuPaul’s Drag Race featured 14 queens across the country battling their way to win the season.
Contestants besides the final three included Q from Kansas City, Missouri, Morphine Love Dion from Miami, Dawn from New York City, Mhi’ya Iman Le’Paige from Miami, Plasma from New York City, Xunami Muse from New York City, Megami from New York City, Geneva Karr from Brownsville Texas, Amanda Tori Meating from Los Angeles, Mirage from Las Vegas, and Hershii LiqCour-Jete from Los Angeles.
Nymphia Wind won the season 16 as emerged out as America’s Next Drag Superstar. The 28- year- old performer is the first queen from Taiwan to win the title and is also the third Asian/ Pacific Islander to be the winner since season 3 champion Raja and season 15 champ Sasha Colby.
Sapphira Cristal and Plane Jane became the runners up who were defeated by Nymphia during the finals. The later edged out Sapphira after an acrobatic final lip sync to Kylie Minogue’s Padam Padam.
As the Taiwan winner took the victory walk, she said, “To those who feel like they don’t belong, just remember to live fearlessly and to live their truth – and Taiwan this is for you!”
