Sandalwood Drug Case: Vivek Oberoi’s house in Mumbai searched by Bengaluru Police

A team of Bengaluru Police searched the Mumbai residence of Vivek Oberoi due to his connections with Aditya Alva.

On Thursday afternoon, a team of Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials searched the Mumbai residence of actor Vivek Oberoi due to his connections with his relative, Aditya Alva, who is alleged to be a part of the Sandalwood Drug Case. Aditya has been on the run ever since the investigation of the drug case has begun. Vivek Oberoi is Aditya’s brother-in-law, which made the Bengaluru CCB team search his house in Mumbai.

Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police, was qouted saying that “In Cottonpet case, Aditya Alva is absconding. Vivek Oberoi is his relative and we have got the information that Alva is hiding there. So we wanted to check. A court warranted was obtained and the CCB team have gone to his house in Mumbai.”

Earlier the same week on Tuesday, the team of CCB officials have arrested an individual who was alleged to be a part of the case and had been hiding from the police, who was later identified as Ashwin Bhogi. As per the reports, CCB has also interrogated the son of reformed underworld don Muthappa Rai, Ricky Rai with connection to the case. Muthappa Rai died in the month of May due to brain cancer.

In the FIR that has been registered, 12 accused have been named which also include the very well-known Sandalwood actors, Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani who are currently kept in judicial custody, along with the prime accused in the case. The police has also issued a notice for Aditya Alva and is on a lookout for the same.
