Singham Again is making all the noise lately ever since it released. The movie has crossed Rs. 200 crore mark at the box office collection, and is being led by Ajay Devgn, reprising his character as police officer. It also features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor. Meanwhile, Deepika was introduced in the film as Lady Singham.
Although the fans were upset that Deepika’s role was merely an extended cameo of sort. But the good news is Rohit Shetty has now confirmed a solo movie based on Deepika’s character as they want to make a lady cop movie.
The filmmaker shared how they conceived the thought of a lady cop movie. “The wait was to get the right script and the right kind of launch for the character. Till 2018, I wasn’t even sure if there’s going to be a cop universe,” he stated in a conversation with News18 Showsha.
Rohit explained that they wasted two years due to COVID-19 pandemic. Sooryavanshi was supposed to be released in 2019, but due to pandemic, it was shelved for two years. As per their original plans, Singham Again was supposed to be released in 2020.
While confirming a movie on DP’s character, the director said that they are yet to develop it but it will happen for sure.
