Jacqueline Fernandez was taken for interrogation by Enforcement Directorate (ED) today in Delhi. The case was regarding a money laundering case that also involves giving bribes to government officials. Jacqueline is not an accused but a witness in the case. Reportedly her interrogation session lasted for a total of five hours. Till now no official statement has come, neither from ED nor from the actress. The news agency ANI reported the news on social media. The official Twitter channel of ANI wrote, “Enforcement Directorate (ED) is questioning Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez in Delhi for the last five hours, in a money laundering case.”

This is not the first time a celebrity is involved in a police case. Rather there has been a sequence of stars like Rakul Preet Singh, Ravi Teja and Rana Daggubatti, who were summoned by the Telangana Excise Department summoned the actors to record their statement for being involved in a drug peddling case. And most recently was the arrest of Bollywood actor, Armaan Kohli by NCB for consuming and storing drugs in his Mumbai house.
Jacqueline’s latest appearance was in horror-comedy, Bhoot Police. The film will air on the online streaming platform Disney Plus Hotstar on 17 September 2021. She was multiple films in the pipeline, many of them are under production while for some she had shot some schedules. She will feature with Akshay Kumar in Bachchan Pandey for which she shot some portions in Jaisalmer. In the COVID pandemic, she stepped out to help the poor by providing meals and supporting NGOs.
