Farhan Akhtar reacts to Abhay Deol comment on nepotism, says “You can always not participate in the rat race”

These days nepotism is the only debate which is going on in Bollywood. Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden death has made many actors come forward and speak about nepotism they have faced in Bollywood from past decades. Recently, actor Abhay Deol spoke. In his talk, he also complained about not giving proper credit to his work in the film ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’. Recently, his co-star in the film Farhan Akhtar has also talked about it. In a conversation with a website, he replied to the reaction of Abhay. He says, ‘You cannot always depend on someone else’s approval for your work.’

He also said, “You cannot always participate in the rat race. You should not always depend on the acceptance of others for your work. Trust yourself and do the work that makes you happy. It does not matter who has appeared on the cover of how many magazines and who has appeared on the cover of how many newspapers. Are we in this industry for our craft for this? Have you come to become a reality star in this industry?” Farhan also says that he does not much matter how many awards he is getting or how many magazines. He is due to his craft in this industry.

He further replied on the comment of Abhay and said, “What he felt is his very personal experience. I cannot say much on this. If you always want the validation of others, then it can give you happiness for some time, but in the end will only give disappointment. Love your work.”
Abhay Deol shared a post last week in which he wrote, “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, came in the year 2011. I am constantly memorizing its name nowadays. This is a good film when upset. I did not get the right appraisal for ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’. Made me a supporting actor at the awards and Hrithik as the main hero. I felt bad for it.”

Abhay Deol, in his Instagram post, had revealed that he and ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ co-star Farhan Akhtar were demoted from lead to supporting actor status at award shows, where Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif were treated as the 2011 Zoya Akhtar-directed film’s only leads.
