Indian AI Industry to boom with Reliance & NVIDIA collaboration

Jio will manage and maintain the AI cloud infrastructure and oversee customer engagement and access.

Reliance Industries Limited, which is run by billionaire Mukesh Ambani, said on September 8 that it would collaborate with American chipmaker NVIDIA to enhance artificial intelligence in India.

India’s goals for artificial intelligence and semiconductor chips are being advanced by the alliance. In addition, the collaboration will support the creation of an indigenous foundation large language model that is designed for generative Al applications and trained on the variety of national languages.

In accordance with the agreement, NVIDIA will offer Jio end-to-end AI supercomputer technology, including CPU, GPU, networking, and AI operating systems and frameworks for creating the most sophisticated AI models. Jio will be in charge of consumer interaction and access as well as managing and maintaining the AI cloud infrastructure.

According to specifics, data centres that can extend to 2,000 MW would host the AI infrastructure.

India has talent, scale, and data. Reliance can create its own huge language models that power generative Al apps built in India, for the people of India, using the most cutting-edge computing resources, he continued.
