Moscow has lauded the signing of the Beijing Declaration by Palestinian factions, emphasizing the importance of adherence to the newly established agreements. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova expressed optimism over the declaration, highlighting its potential to foster unity and progress within the Palestinian political landscape.
“The Russian Federation warmly welcomes the signing of the Beijing Declaration by the Palestinian factions,” Zakharova stated in a press briefing on Wednesday.
The Beijing Declaration, brokered under the auspices of the Chinese government, aims to bridge longstanding divides between rival Palestinian groups. The accord has been hailed as a milestone in the quest for Palestinian unity, a goal that has eluded various mediators for decades.
Zakharova underscored the crucial role of external actors in facilitating dialogue and reconciliation among Palestinian entities. She commended China’s diplomatic efforts, noting that the successful negotiations reflect Beijing’s growing influence and commitment to Middle Eastern peace initiatives.

The Russian spokeswoman also reaffirmed Moscow’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people, reiterating Russia’s historical ties and ongoing solidarity with their aspirations for statehood and sovereignty.
