Eight Palestinians recently released from Israeli prisons have come forward with allegations of torture, further escalating an already tense situation the situation Israeli-Palestinian relations during the Gaza conflict. Gaza’s ruling body Hamas criticized a recent speech by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. to the US Congress, describing it as “full of lies” and evidence that he is not serious about achieving a ceasefire. In his speech, Netanyahu reiterated Israel’s commitment to fighting terrorism and justified the ongoing military operations in Gaza as a necessary response to Hamas attacks.
