Israel’s new deadly air raid targets gathering in Gaza City, dozens killed and injured

On Thursday, an Israeli airstrike targeted a gathering in Gaza City, killing at least 25 and injuring dozens. The strike, which hit a residential area where the group had gathered, further fueled ongoing violence in the area.

The airstrike took place in the densely populated al-Jalaa Street in Gaza City, causing significant damage and chaos as rescue workers and residents searched for survivors. The dead included several women and children, deepening the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the airstrike targeted a website used by Hamas activists to plan attacks. However, the high number of civilian casualties drew swift condemnation from the international community and calls for immediate de-escalation and protection of non-combatants.

UN officials called on both sides to end hostilities and prioritize the safety of civilians. The UN Secretary-General expressed serious concern about the increasing number of civilian casualties and reiterated the urgent need for dialogue to prevent further deaths.

Human rights organizations including  Human Rights Watch condemned the attack, calling it a violation of international humanitarian law. They demanded an independent investigation into the incident and greater accountability for actions that threatened civilians.

Palestinian militants fired rockets into southern Israel, prompting further firefights. The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant casualties and injuries on both sides, complicating efforts to achieve a ceasefire.

It was reported that the Israeli bombing targeted a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, injuring several people. According to reports, the Israeli military conducted a series of deadly attacks across the Gaza Strip in the past hours, resulting in numerous fatalities and injuries.

As the violence intensifies, the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate. Hospitals are full of injured people and there is a severe shortage of medical supplies and necessities. Humanitarian organizations require more aid and access to affected areas to provide critical support.

The air strike and its consequences highlight the urgent need to find a comprehensive and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. As international pressure mounts, there are calls for more and more peace talks to address the root causes of the conflict and end the cycle of violence and suffering in the region.
