At least eight people were killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes across Gaza, as reported by the Wafa news agency. The attacks took place overnight, targeting multiple locations in southern, central, and northern Gaza, raising concerns about escalating tensions in the region.
The Israeli military conducted these airstrikes using fighter jets, which bombed several residential areas. In central Gaza, a home belonging to the Matar family, located west of the Nuseirat refugee camp, was struck, resulting in the deaths of at least three people. Additional airstrikes targeted homes in the Maghazi camp, where at least two individuals lost their lives.
In northern Gaza, a house in Block 4 of the Jabalia refugee camp was bombed, leading to the deaths of three more individuals, with others reportedly injured. Furthermore, a tented camp for displaced persons in the al-Shawafin area of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis, was also hit, resulting in the deaths of a “number of citizens.”
The airstrikes did not spare southern Gaza either. Israeli forces bombed residential areas in the west of Rafah city and detonated explosives to demolish homes. Although no casualties were reported in Rafah, the widespread destruction has left many residents in fear and uncertainty.
These latest airstrikes are part of an ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, with both sides exchanging attacks in recent weeks. The Israeli military has justified its actions as a response to rocket fire from Gaza, but the civilian toll continues to mount, drawing international concern. As the situation in Gaza remains volatile, the prospect of further escalation looms large, leaving many to wonder how and when the cycle of violence might end.
