APEDA partners with Lulu group to boost global market for Indian organic products

The MoU marks a strategic collaboration between APEDA, a government agency responsible for the promotion of agricultural exports, and Lulu Group, a major global retailer with a strong presence in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lulu Group International to promote Indian organic products on the global stage. The agreement aims to expand the reach of Indian organic goods in international markets through Lulu Group’s extensive retail network.

The MoU marks a strategic collaboration between APEDA, a government agency responsible for the promotion of agricultural exports, and Lulu Group, a major global retailer with a strong presence in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. Lulu Group will feature a wide range of certified Indian organic products in its supermarkets and hypermarkets, enhancing their visibility and availability to consumers worldwide.

APEDA Chairman M Angamuthu highlighted that the agreement aligns with India’s goal to increase its share in the global organic market, which has seen significant growth in recent years. By leveraging Lulu Group’s established market presence, APEDA aims to introduce a diverse array of Indian organic products, including grains, spices, and processed foods, to new and existing international customers.

Lulu Group International will work closely with APEDA to ensure that the products meet international quality standards and are effectively marketed to potential buyers. The partnership is expected to facilitate streamlined export processes, improve product sourcing, and enhance supply chain efficiency, further boosting India’s organic product exports.

The MoU also envisions collaborative efforts in promotional activities, including joint marketing campaigns, product exhibitions, and trade fairs, to raise awareness and drive demand for Indian organic products. This initiative is set to strengthen India’s position in the global organic market and contribute to the growth of the agricultural export sector.

The collaboration with Lulu Group represents a significant milestone for APEDA as it continues to explore new avenues for expanding India’s export horizons and promoting the country’s agricultural products on a global scale.
