Adani Krishnapatnam Port, a major participant in the Indian maritime sector, has unveiled a state-of-the-art cargo handling system that is intended to drastically improve operational efficiency and establish new standards in port logistics. The advanced system, recently inaugurated at the port, is expected to revolutionize cargo management and streamline the movement of goods, reinforcing the port’s status as a critical logistics hub on the eastern coast of India.
The new cargo handling system incorporates the latest technology, including automated equipment and real-time tracking systems, enabling faster and more accurate handling of a diverse range of cargo. This development is part of the Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ). Broader strategy to modernize its port infrastructure and improve service delivery across its network of ports.
Speaking at the launch, a senior executive from Adani Ports highlighted the system’s potential to reduce turnaround times and improve overall productivity.
Krishnapatnam Port, strategically located in Andhra Pradesh, has rapidly grown into one of India’s largest and most versatile ports. It functions as a major entry point for trade between India and Southeast Asia and handles a broad range of cargo, including bulk, breakbulk, and containerized goods.
In addition to technological advancements, the port is expanding its storage and warehousing facilities to accommodate the increasing volume of cargo. The port authority has recently added over 1 million square feet of warehousing space, ensuring that goods can be stored efficiently and securely, further enhancing the port’s logistical capabilities.
Moreover, Adani Krishnapatnam Port also focuses on sustainability initiatives, such as integrating renewable energy sources and implementing eco-friendly practices. These efforts are aimed at minimizing the port’s carbon footprint and aligning with global environmental standards, positioning the port as a leader in sustainable port operations.
