Iran condemns Israeli strike on Gaza school shelter as genocide

Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, issued a scathing statement on Saturday, denouncing the Israeli attack and criticizing the country’s blatant disregard for international laws and moral principles.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned an Israeli airstrike on a school-turned-shelter in Gaza City, labeling the attack as an example of genocide and crimes against humanity. Within the last 24 hours, Israeli attacks left 40 Palestinians dead and 140 wounded, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. This strike adds to the mounting death toll in Gaza, where over 39,790 people have been killed and 91,702 injured since the beginning of Israel’s military campaign on October 7.

Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, issued a scathing statement on Saturday, denouncing the Israeli attack and criticizing the country’s blatant disregard for international laws and moral principles. Kanaani emphasized that Israel’s actions reflect a complete lack of commitment to any humanitarian norms, further illustrating what Iran views as a systematic campaign of genocide against the Palestinian people.

In his statement, Kanaani urged Muslim nations to take practical and decisive action to support the Palestinian cause, arguing that solidarity among Islamic countries is the only effective way to confront Israel. He called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take immediate action to halt Israel’s ongoing “crimes” in Gaza. Kanaani warned that the current situation in Gaza is not only a humanitarian disaster but also a significant threat to international peace and security.

The ongoing conflict in Gaza has seen schools and other civilian infrastructures become makeshift shelters for thousands of displaced residents, who have increasingly become targets of Israeli military operations. The deteriorating situation has drawn widespread international condemnation, with Iran’s latest remarks adding to the global calls for an urgent resolution to the conflict.
