Iran, a key regional ally of Palestinian armed groups, has announced sanctions on several American and British individuals and entities for their support of Israel’s military actions in Gaza. The Islamic Republic’s Foreign Ministry stated that the sanctions targeted high-ranking U.S. and British military officials, as well as defence companies from both countries.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has also raised concerns over the impact of the conflict on healthcare facilities and medical workers in Gaza. According to WHO data, 443 attacks on healthcare facilities or medical personnel have been recorded since the start of the war, resulting in 723 deaths and 924 injuries.
The ongoing conflict between Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups in the Gaza Strip has intensified, with reports of heavy clashes and escalating violence across the besieged territory.
In a series of developments over the past 24 hours, Israeli artillery units targeted agricultural lands in the northern Nuseirat refugee camp, leaving at least 10 Palestinians injured, according to local sources. Meanwhile, Palestinian armed groups have been engaging in attacks against Israeli troops stationed at a main junction in central Gaza, leading to extensive exchanges of fire.
The Gaza Health Ministry has reported a grim toll, with 28 people killed and 51 injured in the latest 24-hour period, adding to the mounting casualties since the outbreak of hostilities.
The situation has also impacted humanitarian efforts, with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) accusing Israel of “impeding” and “denying” a significant number of aid missions to northern Gaza in April. Despite the opening of a new aid crossing, OCHA has warned that six months of starvation cannot be ended without a consistent supply of aid reaching the besieged population.
Amidst the escalating violence, Israeli forces have conducted widespread raids throughout the occupied West Bank, arresting 15 Palestinians, including one woman, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society.
As the fighting rages on, international calls for a ceasefire and diplomatic efforts to broker a lasting peace have intensified. However, with both sides showing no signs of backing down, the prospects for a resolution to the conflict remain uncertain, leaving the civilian population in Gaza bearing the brunt of the violence and humanitarian crisis.
