In the midst of the ongoing U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran, now in its third week, US President Donald Trump has made bold statements regarding the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil chokepoint. The strait, through which about one-fifth of the world’s oil shipments pass, has faced severe disruptions due to Iranian actions, leading to soaring oil prices and economic concerns worldwide.
Trump’s Latest Remarks on the Strait of Hormuz
President Trump recently asserted that the Strait of Hormuz is “in very good shape,” signaling confidence in U.S. military efforts to counter Iranian threats in the region. He emphasized that the U.S. has effectively managed the situation but stressed the need for international cooperation.
He urged Europe, South Korea, and other nations heavily reliant on Gulf oil to contribute warships and support naval operations to secure the passage.
Many countries have reportedly told him they are “on the way” to assist, with commitments from several unnamed nations.
