United States President Donald Trump, while addressing the US-UAE business roundtable in Abu Dhabi on Friday, stated that the United States would be “very fair” in its trade and economic engagements globally. He added that as many as 150 countries have expressed interest in making trade agreements with the US.
Trump highlighted the growing global interest in deepening economic ties with the US amid shifting geopolitical and trade landscapes. “150 countries wanted to make a deal with the US,” he said, adding that the American market remains one of the most sought-after destinations for investments and trade partnerships.
He further emphasized that the US has already reached significant trade agreements with the United Kingdom and China. Trump underlined that his administration is focused on ensuring equitable terms in all deals, reiterating, “We are going to be very fair.”
The remarks were made during his visit to Abu Dhabi, where he also discussed US-UAE trade relations and the Gulf state’s plans to invest in US-produced semiconductors. Trump added that he expects the UAE and other Gulf nations to play a greater role in supporting the US economy through strategic investments.
The former President is on a tour of the Middle East, during which he also made statements on global issues including Gaza, Ukraine, and US-Russia ties. He noted that a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected soon, adding that he believes a resolution to the Ukraine conflict could follow such discussions.
