Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has shared that U.S. President Donald Trump believes the ongoing war involving the United States, Israel, and Iran is unlikely to end this week.

According to recent statements cited by Sa’ar (reported by Reuters and other sources), Trump has indicated the conflict will continue at least a bit longer. This comes even as Trump has made optimistic comments elsewhere, saying the war could end “very soon” overall and that U.S.-Israeli strikes have already caused major damage to Iran’s military (including its air force, navy, and leadership targets).

The conflict, now in its 11th day (starting late February 2026), involves massive airstrikes by the U.S. and Israel targeting Iranian military sites, missile facilities, nuclear-related infrastructure, naval assets, and leadership targets. Iran has responded with missile and drone barrages against Israel, U.S. bases in the region, and several Gulf countries.
