In a report released by the Hindustan Times, in the Kamchatka peninsula in Russia’s Far East region, a Russian aeroplane carrying nearly 30 passengers on board has gone missing, multiple reports said on Tuesday citing regional authorities.
While attempting to land, the AN-26 aircraft lost its contact with the air traffic control while TASS separately cited a source as saying. The aircraft did not establish a scheduled communication while flying to Palana in the Kamchatka Peninsula from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and the emergency ministry as saying was cited by the Interfax and RIA Novosti agencies, according to Reuters.
11:59 am: With at least two helicopters along with a few rescue workers being on standby, a search operation had been launched while the air traffic safety record of Russia who was said to be notorious for plane accidents once, has been improved in recent years, as per a report released by Aljazeera.
Belonging to the flag Carrier airline Aeroflot, a Sukhoi superjet aircraft had crash-landed and caught fire on the runway of a Moscow airport which claimed the life of 41 people and this was the last major air accident which took place in May 2019.
15:06 pm: The aircraft AN-26 carrying several passengers on board has crash landed in the sea, many ships have been enrouted to the crash site, according to a report released by Reuters.
