One dead, 30 injured as Singaporean bound flight makes emergency landing in Bangkok due to turbulence

At least one passenger has been killed and more than 30 are injured on a Singaporean Airlines flight from London that was hit by turbulence.

The Singapore bound Boeing 777-300ER was diverted to Bangkok and landed at 15:45 local (08:00 GMT).


The flight was carrying a total of 211 passengers and also had 18 crew members on board, shared the airlines in a statement.

“Singapore Airlines offers its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased,” it stated.

The statement also mentioned they are in constant contact with the authorities at Thai in order to ensure medical assistance to the passengers, and are also sending a team to Bangkok to provide any additional assistance needed.

Thai authorities have dispatched ambulances and emergency teams to Suvarnabhumi Airport.
