Hamas fires rockets in Tel Aviv area for first time in almost four months

Hamas says it has fired rockets towards the Tel Aviv area in central Israel for the first time in nearly four months.

As reported by the Israeli military, at least eight rockets were launched from Rafah area in southern Gaza and several were intercepted.

The Israeli army is currently carrying out a military operation in Rafah. No injuries have been reported yet.

Rocket sirens were sounded in other cities and towns, including Herzliya and Petah Tikva.

The conflict between Gaza and Israel has been going on for eight months now. The war began when Hamas militant entered the southern territory of Israel killing at least 1,200 civilians and took into captivity at least 250 hostages. Since then, the tensions have been on the rise in the Middle East.
