ZipRecruiter is unveiling a new feature called ZipIntro designed to expedite the hiring process by allowing employers to quickly schedule introductory calls with potential candidates. This tool leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to match employers with suitable candidates based on a range of criteria, including employment history, education, skills, certifications, and interests.

Employers can input details about the job role and choose a specific date and time for the introductory calls. ZipIntro then uses AI algorithms to identify and suggest potential candidates, sending them invitations for the scheduled calls. This system not only enhances the efficiency of the hiring process but also enables employers to review candidate responses and conduct multiple back-to-back calls seamlessly.

The introductory sessions facilitated by ZipIntro typically last between 30 minutes and one hour, though individual calls usually take around five minutes. This new feature is particularly useful for initial screenings and high-volume hiring scenarios where reducing the number of interview stages can be beneficial.

According to ZipRecruiter, employers can expect to receive their first RSVP from candidates within just 20 minutes of posting a job requirement. Megan Allen, Senior Vice President of Product at ZipRecruiter, emphasized the advantages of ZipIntro, saying, “ZipIntro enables recruiters and hiring managers to make essential connections more swiftly and evaluate each candidate’s true potential more effectively.” “For job seekers, we’re thrilled to offer the chance to connect with employers more quickly, allowing them to highlight their true personality, soft skills, and enthusiasm.”

ZipRecruiter’s introduction of ZipIntro follows a broader trend of AI-driven enhancements in the hiring industry. Other platforms, such as Indeed and Microsoft-owned LinkedIn, are also implementing AI tools to improve various aspects of the recruitment process, including job experience descriptions and job postings.
