Zayn Malik recently had to make a heartbreaking decision—canceling his highly anticipated show in Mexico City on March 28, 2025. The Dusk Till Dawn singer, who is currently on his Stairway to the Sky tour, was left with no choice but to pull out of the performance after suffering from a severe case of food poisoning.
This tour marks a major milestone for Zayn, as it’s his first in several years. Since kicking things off in November 2024, fans have been eagerly waiting to see him back on stage. However, despite his best efforts to power through, his body simply wouldn’t cooperate.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Zayn shared the unfortunate news with his fans, writing, “I’m heartbroken to say that I won’t be able to perform tonight in Mexico City.” He revealed that he had been feeling unwell since the morning of the concert but had tried everything possible to push through. Sadly, his condition didn’t improve, making it impossible for him to take the stage.
Expressing his deep regret, the A Whole New World singer added, “I’m so sorry to let you down. The love and energy I always feel from my fans mean the world to me, and it hurts deeply to miss this moment with you.” He also thanked his supporters for their understanding and reassured them that he was sending them all his love.
Later that evening, Zayn issued another update, revealing that not just he, but also his crew had fallen ill due to food poisoning. “It’s no joke. [I’m] still struggling,” he admitted, emphasizing just how rough the situation was.
This unfortunate setback comes just days after Zayn paid tribute to his late former bandmate, Liam Payne, who tragically passed away in October last year. The emotional weight of recent events, combined with his illness, made the cancellation all the more difficult for him and his fans.
As he continues to recover, fans are hoping for his speedy return to the stage, where he can once again share his music with the world.
