It’s not uncommon to encounter people on dating apps using photos of famous celebrities, a phenomenon known as catfishing. However, former One Direction member Zayn Malik found himself on the other end of this scenario, leading to minimal success on Tinder.
Zayn Malik’s romantic history includes relationships with high-profile stars like Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, and Perrie Edwards from Little Mix. Rising to fame in 2010 as part of One Direction, Malik experienced both the perks and challenges of celebrity life, including increased attention from admirers.
Despite his status, Malik attempted modern dating through apps like Tinder. However, his experience was less than stellar. In an interview with Nylon ahead of his fourth studio album, “Room Under the Stairs,” set to release on May 17, Malik confessed his struggles with online dating. He revealed that he faced accusations of catfishing, with users questioning why he was using Zayn Malik’s pictures. In fact, he admitted to being kicked off the platform once or twice due to these suspicions.
Fortunately for his fans, Malik assured that he is happily single. He expressed contentment with his current status, emphasizing that he’s learned from past relationships. Reflecting on his previous engagements, he acknowledged his lack of understanding and self-awareness during those years. Now, at 27, Malik is focused on personal growth, his new music, and being a father to his daughter, Khai.
Malik emphasized the importance of taking time to know oneself before committing to a lifelong partnership. While he may not be pursuing dates on Tinder in the future, Raya remains a popular choice among celebrities for connecting with potential matches. For now, Malik’s priority lies in nurturing his own well-being and artistic endeavors.
