Thursday’s episode of The Young and the Restless is packed with drama as Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) team up again — but this time, it’s not under captivity. Meanwhile, Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins) is facing serious pressure as his secrets are on the verge of coming out.
At the GCAC, Martin is desperately trying to keep up the act that he’s Alan Laurent, but things are falling apart fast. After Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) confirms that Martin is actually the twin Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) fell for, Traci decides it’s time to confront him. She demands that Martin come clean about who he really is and whether he ever truly cared about her. It looks like Martin’s twisted feelings for Traci might push him to admit the truth — that he’s been impersonating Alan and lying to her all along.
Meanwhile, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) is getting closer to proving Martin’s guilt. With potential fingerprint evidence linking Martin to the farmhouse where Sharon and Phyllis were held captive, it looks like Martin’s days of freedom are numbered. Chance may soon arrest him, and with Traci, Ashley, and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) by his side, Martin will be seriously outnumbered. Of course, he could try to make a run for it, but it seems unlikely he’ll get far.
Elsewhere, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) is put on the spot by Phyllis, who asks if she’s planning to go after Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Summer may try to deny it, but Phyllis isn’t buying it.
As Martin’s arrest draws closer, Sharon and Phyllis will likely get updates and will officially join forces to confront their former captor. Their time spent together in captivity could make them a powerful team as they get ready to face Martin once and for all.
