The highly anticipated Yellowjackets 4th (and final) Season promises to tie up tons of loose ends regarding mysteries surrounding the wilderness, post-rescue trauma, cannibalism, and the unidentified creature dubbed “Wilderness.” Following shocking deaths and emotional twists, the last season of this edge-of-your-seat horror drama series about a group of high school athletes who survived a plane crash in 1996 will be produced in Vancouver, completed in 2026, and available on Paramount+, thereby delivering large-scale payoffs to loyal viewers.
Yellowjackets Season 4: Release Details
After season three ended in May of 2025, the show was picked up for season four almost immediately. In October of 2025, creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson announced that it would be the final season with a “crazy ending.” Filming began in early 2026 (around February/March) in Vancouver and continued through March 2026.
While no firm premiere date has been given, it is expected to come out in late 2026 (probably fall/winter). Some sources say post-production may extend the release into early 2027, but the consensus is that the release should still be in late 2026.

The updates on these characters will provide a deeper insight into the families and their reintegration into society after they are rescued, particularly in the 1990s.
Yellowjackets Season 4: Story Details
There are a few details on the plot of Season 4 to avoid unnecessary spoilers; however, it is the first season of the fit on dual timelines:
– The first timeline explores characters reintegrating into society after they were rescued from the wilderness, which was a major theme since the creators launched this series.
– You will also finally get closure on the unanswered questions around the plane crash, the wilderness, cannibalism, the supernatural “Entity” in the Wilderness, and what will happen in terms of the future in relation to the Season 3 events, including the consequences of the major deaths in that season.
– The second timeline will address the unresolved issues of what happened to a few of the characters (mainly Akilah and the cave incident) and pave the way for the final dark place in the story.
– According to the creators, Season 4 will be the final season of the show, and they hope fans will find it “delicious” in terms of how this chapter ends with very much so and very satisfying payoffs.
The new teaser trailer is now available, depicting how “The Past is Coming Back” and that secrets buried in the wilderness will soon be revealed, and that this will no longer distinguish between being alive and going mad.
