The APEX 17 MAX is a 17-inch gaming laptop equipped with high-end specifications aimed at enhancing the gaming experience. It features a WQHD display with a resolution of 2560x1440p, powered by either the NVIDIA RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 GPU. This setup ensures a high-refresh-rate display capable of up to 165Hz, providing smooth visuals and responsive gameplay. The laptop’s screen also supports AMD FreeSync for tear-free gaming and covers 100% of both the DCI-P3 and sRGB color spaces for vibrant, accurate color reproduction.
With up to 330 nits of brightness, the APEX 17 MAX offers a clear and vivid display suitable for both gaming and multimedia. For those concerned about battery life, the laptop features a 73Wh replaceable battery and several power-saving options, including a 60Hz mode and an iGPU-only mode that activates after deactivating the NVIDIA dGPU.
The APEX 17 MAX also includes a MUX switch, allowing users to toggle between the dedicated GPU (dGPU) and integrated GPU (iGPU) for either enhanced performance or power conservation. Performance benchmarks reveal that the APEX 17 MAX can deliver impressive results, scoring 29,682 points in the Cinebench R23 multi-core test, compared to 30,164 points achieved by the XMG NEO 17, which uses an Intel Core i9-14900HX processor. Despite slightly lower single-core performance, the Ryzen 9 7945HX in the APEX 17 MAX offers up to 72% higher efficiency, making it a highly competitive option.
In terms of memory and storage, the APEX 17 MAX supports up to 96GB of RAM, with speeds of 5200MHz for 64GB configurations and 4800MHz for 96GB setups. It also features modern connectivity options, including WiFi 6E, Bluetooth, USB-C 3.2 Gen2 ports, HDMI 2.1, DP 1.4a, and Gigabit LAN.
